It is July here in Georgia and it is incredibly steamy! The good news is that the Farmer's Markets are full of fantastic fruits and veggies. My handsome husband recently stopped at the Farmer's Market and picked up some tomatoes and peaches. What he didn't know is that he also picked up hundreds of fruit flies! Within a day of bringing home the yummy farm fresh treats, our kitchen was infested with fruit flies.
My hubby started talking about bug bombs and perhaps burning down the house to get rid of these tiny little pests. Then I see him getting out the bleach and buying a noxious bug spray. I had to take matters into my own hands (even though it was amusing to se my husband spastically trying to swat and clap-kill the little buggers).
In comes a simple, cheap solution that solved the problem in just a couple of days.
For this fly trapping solution mix:
4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
3-4 drops of dish soap
The apple cider vinegar and sugar attract the bugs and then the soap traps them so they can't fly away and keep breeding.
It is kind of gross to have this hanging out on the kitchen counter, but so worth it to get rid of those tiny flying nuisances!
